                Aquaria K.L.C.C   
   

This “ ocean of discovery ” is unveiled at the Aquaria KLCC right in the heart of the city. It's a RM60 million aquarium featuring some 5,000 aquatic and marine animal exhibits of over 150 different species from Malaysia and around the world. Covering an area over 5,500 sq m, making it the largest in the world, the Aquaria has 19 tanks with various environments to keep and display fishes  it is also the first in Southeast Asia to exhibit the rare Sand Tiger Sharks from South Africa. The aquarium is also home to monkey-eating catfish from Endau Rompin, sharks from Singapore and the endangered fresh water tortoise called “ Chitra-chitra ” which were saved from the cooking pot.

Open from 10am till 10pm with the last admission at 9pm. 
Admission fee to the aquarium is RM38 for adults and RM26 for children aged three to 12.
 Entrance for those aged two and below is free.

    China Town / Petaling Street


Petaling Street - KL's very own Chinatown is a hive of sound and activities. Located at the heart of KL's bustling Chinatown, Petaling Street is the place to head for those who are interested in experiencing the excitement of bargaining for their purchases.

Petaling Street is endowed with a distinct character of its own. Its popular night market is a daily feature. Walk, linger or browse and see if you can bag yourself a bargain. Flanking both sides of this street are shops selling anything from textiles to Chinese Herbal medicines.

Shops here stock a variety of goods from dresses and shoes to fabrics, costume jewellery, watches, handbags, jeans, t shirts and so much more. There are also a number of restaurants serving authentic regional Chinese cuisine. If you have never experienced petaling street before, add it to your list of must do's next time you're in town.
               
Bukit Bintang
 
is a shopping district located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. It's indisputably one of  the city's foremost shopping districts offering a variety of merchandise to suit every taste and budget. The city's major shopping outlets located in this area include

Since the end of 2005, Central Market has undergone  a thorough renovation and upgrading. You can now visist :Jonker Street   A replica of the Malacca-styled stalls which display and sell a wide variety of handicrafts and souvenirs. (Mangrove Food Court)   A food court imposing a theme of nature, depicting “bakau” from the mangrove swamp and selling a wide spectrum of Malaysian food.
Oldtown Kopitiam   An old fashion classic coffee shop of the Malacca “Baba Nyonya” era serving local food.
Lorong Melayu, Lorong India and the Straits Chinese Streets   Streets reflecting the multi-ethnicity of Malaysia displaying and selling traditional and Malaysian made products.  Batik Emporium   Seen as one of the biggest “Batik Emporium” in Kuala Lumpur selling a wide range of Batik apparels and accessories. Arts Gallery   A gallery to showcase Malaysian artistry and talent as well as to promote Malaysian Arts and Handicrafts.There are over  250 shops featuring traditional arts and crafts from gold embroidery, silverwares, silk, Baba Nyonya antiques, krises, kites, wood crafts, carvings, souvenirs and many more.
Complementing the ambience of the Market are portrait painters, fortune tellers and palmist who will make your visit that much more memorable, at the same time, you will be able to satisfy your palate with a range of food and eateries, which featuring mouth watering local, oriental and western dishes.

                    Batu Caves
The  Batu Caves are situated thirteen kilometers (seven miles) north of the capital city Kuala Lumpur. They are the sacred place for the Hindu's in Malaysia. and  consist of three main caves and a number of smaller ones. The caves are made of limestone and are approx 400 meters long and 100 meter high. They were discovered in 1892. To Find out more click on the llink.

                  Zoo Negara   

 The Zoo is open daily form 9-5 pm Saturday's & Sunday's + Public holiday's  9.00a.m - 10.30 pm  There is  over 4000 animals from 400 species of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and fish on display.  Covering  110 acres of land the Zoo is located only 5km from the city. Cost = Rm 15.00 Adults Rm 6.00 Children (3-12 yrs) and senior citizens above 60 yrs

                Cosmo's World      
   

Located at Kuala Lumpur Berjaya Times Square which is in the heart of the city centre, this is Malaysia's biggest indoor theme park. Pictured is the

         Chow Kit:  Daily market

The Bazaar Baru Chow Kit is a daily market opened from 9am till 5 pm This colourful market is called after the district Chow Kit. It is the largest "wet market" in Kuala Lumpur. "Wet Market" is a market selling, fruit, vegetables, tofu, spices, meat and fish, this one also sells crabs & lobsters. The market covers two sides of the same street there is the wet side and the the other side selling a variety of clothing from jeans to dresses t shirts to all sorts of footwear, fashion accessories, watches jewellery etc etc also available are stalls selling silks and fabrics. This is where the local do their shopping

The Indian community in Malaysia is the smallest of the three main ethnic groups: Malaysians Chinese and Indians. Accounting for approx 10% of the country’s population. The Indians who came to Malaysia brought with them the Hindu culture  with its unique temples, delicious cuisine and colourful garments. Here you can find textiles, gold jewellery, traditional medicine shops and colorful indian clothing along with  great food.
