K.L Bird Park Malaysia @ lake gardens in Kuala Lumpur is the worlds largest free flight walk in Aviary. The park is home to over 200 local and foreign species of birds. Covering over 21 acres the park is divided into 4 zones, the main feature that differentiates the park from others is that you are for want of a better description stepping into a giant birdcage as the whole site is covered in netting that allows the elements in whilst ensuring the birds do not escape. This allows you to walk amongst the birds in a natural environment and observe them whilst they eat, play, hide and court. Getting to the The bird park from junes apartment is as easy as 1, 2, 3 ( 1 ) Catch the train to the old Kuala lumpur railway station ( 4 stops away @ RM 1.00 per journey) and then a 15 minute walk to the entrance, along the way you will go past the Islamic Arts Museum and a few giant umbrellas such as the one in the 1st picture where you can take shelter should it rain. I do hope this web site will help inspire you to visit the bird park whilst you are in K.L as as i am sure the young and the not so young will enjoy the experience equally. The opening hrs are from 9.00am - 6.00pm daily. Click here to visit the K.L bird park site.

Standing as still as a rock this little fellow did not budge an inch for such a long time   One of many cooling waterfalls around the park   This peacock was competein with another for the right to mate, this is done by an intricate dance that involves the display of the tail feathers   Another peacock trying to woo his sweetheart

The day i took these photo's two male peacocks were involved in a mating dance competing against each other to try and woo some females so they could mate. It was fascinating watching them turn and twist and open their tale feathers in a full display designed to impress the females. The better the dance and the display the better the chance of success

Pelikan rubbish bins, a cool idea.   This bird was busy searching for and catching his lunch   Kids playground beside the amphitheatre   Wheel chair friendly walk ways all the way around the bird park
